New York is one of my favorite cities in the world. And luckily I also have friends who are living there.

So I decided to visit them for a long weekend. It was sooooo good to be back and the weather was also nice.

New York it was as usual a blast. My weekend in NY was full of amazing people, great conversations, delicious food, some extraordinary clubbing and just a great time – Thank you ! My extra tipp for all of you – just quit the touristic spots and go with the flow. I mean take a stroll and you will see the real NY and you will always end up and some amazing spots.

As it was just a weekend and my focus was on some bonding time with my friends I didn’t visited so much locations. But here are still some of my fav spots during the last days:

ABC Kitchen – Delicious and fresh food in vibrant atmosphere (also nice for people watching). My must try:

Crab Toast

Pretzel Dusted Calamari

All kind of Pizza

Caramel Popcorn Sundae

Cull and Pistol – nice Oyster/Seafood spot. But there are really a lot of great Oyster spots in NY. Just check out the best Happy Hour offers as there are really nice and priceable

Soho House – we all know Soho House the Members Only Club. This one in NY is really nice because of the rooftop pool

The Blonde – Great spot for clubbing with also delicious food

The Box – Well, this is a kind of different clubbing spot…. no mobiles allowed ( I mean really no mobiles they are very strictly) When you want an entertaining (and sometimes in a weird way) clubbing night – this is your spot. You can’t explain it you just have to see it….

I love Italy and I have visited some really nice places in Italy, but I have never been to Milano. So I decided to visit the capital of fashion and food and said “By Germany and Ciao Milano”. But the main reason for this trip was to visit a good friend of mine

Even if it was cold and rainy, it was an amazing day. First we took a stroll through the amazing Brera district in Milano. It is like the little Soho version of Milano. Very trendy, very cool and just chic

After the first impressions from Brera and of course 4 Espresso, we walked to an amazing concept store called “10 Corso Como”. It is a fantastic place where you have an amazing fashion store, a restaurant, a cafe, a gallery and lot more. But of course was the fashion store my highlight

After our stroll through the hip Brera district, we went the high fashionable and luxury street Via Monte Napoleone. There you can find all the high fashion labels. But because it was before Christmas, our focus was not on a new handbag but on the beautiful christmas lights which you could find everywhere.

After our active day it was time to start with the night entertainment. And how you do it in Milano ?!? Exactly…. with a Apero. We had our Apero at the amazing Terrazza 12 where you can not only find the delicious Aperol Spritz but have also this beautiful view.

After our Apero we went to a restaurant called I Sapori di Giovy. This restaurant offers typical milanese cuisine. The food is delicious and the interior design is just cute. You feel like at your grandma’s home. And by the way, I had one of the most delicious Risotto al Milanese that I ever tried.

This trip was as often too short. But it was more than worthy. A great time with friends in a great city – what more could one want. Arrivederci Milano.

We stayed at the beautiful Hotel Café Royal. This hotel has an amazing location, just directly at the Regent Street. The interior design is beautiful and the rooms are very spacious.

And just look at this pompous entrance – Wow. You can really feel the history of this building.

Event if it was very cold, I have to say that I love this city also during winter. Especially before Christmas. Look at the beautiful and world-famous Christmas lights.

Because it was a very short trip (as often ;-)) I couldn’t take so much pics – sorry guys But I have two new foodie tips for you.

1. Hoppers

Hoppers offers typical Sri Lankan food in a small but stylish location in Soho. It is a no-booking restaurant.

If you like indian food, you will love this restaurant. The food is so delicious. It is fresh, tasty, spicy and just yummy. Everything was so good. But my favorite are the Hoppers and the bone marrow varuval. 

2. Patty & Bun

I love Burgers. I just love them. I could eat them 24/7. And as I heard from Patty & Bun, I had to try it. It is a little cool spot in Soho. Very cozy.

I tried the Cheesburger and it was so so so good. I think that this was one of my best burgers for a while

I’m definitely a fan of spontaneous and short trips. And this trip was very spontaneous and short. We decided to spend 24hrs in Paris. I think there could be a worst place than Paris for such a short trip

We checked in at our super cute hotel – called Amour. I think we can all see why the hotel is called Amour.

After a little fresh up in our room, we were ready for Paris. Paris here we come.

Before we went to dinner, we wanted to explore Paris. It was not my first time in Paris, so because of this we just wanted to take a stroll, sit down at a nice bistro and do some shopping – no typical sightseeing. Just like the Parisians do

After our successful (shopping) day in Paris, we went to our dinner location. It was this typical parisian bistro which we all know from movies etc. But not only the interior was very nice, the food was just delicious. Exactly what we hoped for. Le Bistro Paul Bert was fantastic.

On the next day we wanted to spend our last hours in Paris with a typical french dish – oysters and champagne I think there was no better way to end our 24hrs trip to Paris than with this delicacies. 

Paris, it was great. Looking forward to come back very soon….

And of course was my first stop Santa Monica Pier. Totally touristic and totally weird but totally amazing

I’m a big Two and a Half Man fan. So because of this I had to try a Corn Dog – Jake’s favorite food I tried it at a real Santa Monica institution – the Hot Dog Stick. A very good choice. Mhmmmmmm

Afterwards we did a little stroll to enjoy Santa Monica.

And of course I had to include a little beach break in Santa Monica 

One of the most stunning hotels in Santa Monica is the Shutters on the Beach – which is, guess, exactly on the beach. We did a little cocktail break at the Shutters and enjoyed the view

After some relaxation at the beach we went to Venice. The famous Venice Beach. I was really excited to see Venice because I’ve heard a lot of great stories about Venice. My ultimate favorite part in Venice was the Abbot Kinney Road. So cool, so hip and so unique. If you ever went to Venice, make sure you visit the Abbot Kinney Road. An amazing long street with a lot of unique and hip shops, delicious restaurants and galleries.

After some amazing days in Los Angeles and some even more amazing days in New York, I had to go back home – unfortunately. La-La-La Land was amazing.

After a few days in my favorite city New York, I decided to spend a few days in LA. I have never been to the West Coast and was very exciting to see LA and surroundings. Even if I only had 4 days

We stayed in West Hollywood at The Standard hotel. I just love the Standard hotels. They are always hip, unique, luxury and have a very cool crowd. So of course, I was not disappointed when I checked in at the Standard hotel in Los Angeles.They style of The Standard hotel in West Hollywood is very cool. Everything looks like in the 70s. From the furniture to the architecture. A very cool alternation to the other hotels in LA.

We decided to check out Los Angeles with its amazing shopping possibilities and great restaurants. My favorite place in Los Angeles is definitely Melrose Avenue. It is very stylish with its little boutique shops and cafes.

I had the opportunity to be in New York during Fashion Week. And I have to say it was just phenomenal !! I am such a big fan of NY and NY is always a good idea but during the Fashion Week the vibe was just so outstanding. So many interesting people. I stayed only 3 days in NY – but did of course the best of it  

This time I had the chance to stay at the beautiful EDITION hotel. I just can say WOW. The hotel is amazing. We stayed at the beautiful Loft Suite.

The most impressive thing about this Suite was the direct view at the Empire State Building. This was really surreal. Sitting on the window seat with a glass of wine and this breathtaking view. NY your are soooo magical.

The EDITION hotel has become one of my favorite hotels in NY. Not only because of the spacious rooms and the amazing views but especially because of the people. The service was outstanding. From the doormen to the concierge or the bartender. Everybody was so nice and friendly. They did everything to make you feel comfortable and very special. Also the location is great – 5 Madison Avenue. You could not ask for more for a hotel in NY.

Because I had only 3 days in NY and this was not my first time in NY I didn’t had so many things on my list. But there was 1 thing which I wanted to do – went to the Smorgasburg Market in Brooklyn. This is a food market which take place every Saturday and Sunday and offers more than 100 food stalls. Obviously a must thing for a foodie like me

And I didn’t get disappointed. This food market is so amazing. You can find everything from original Thai Coffee to Poke and a lot more. 

If you are over a weekend in NY you have to go to the Smorgasburg in Brooklyn. 

During my remaining days in NY I just wanted to relax and stroll through the city – with no plan. And this was one of the best ideas. I enjoyed to enjoy NY- if you understand what I mean

But I wouldn’t bee a real foodie if I hadn’t some insider tips for you. Here are my 2 newest restaurant tips in NY:

If you are looking for an authentic and delicious chinese restaurant, went to this nice place in Chinatown. Even if it doesn’t look like a good restaurant – trust me, it is one of the best chinese restaurant you could find in NY. The Nom Wah.

My second tip is a steak house – Keens Chophouse. I just love steaks and I can’t get enough of it. This is a real institution in NY. You can see and feel the history in this restaurant. But the best part about this restaurant is their food, obviously their steaks. They are just outstanding delicious. 

This was my very last minute and very short NY trip. But I was just happy to be back in this amazing city – one of the best cities in the world. And I am exciting to explore Los Angeles. Yeeeees, the Viator will be for a few days in Los Angeles. Keep you posted

Sea Satin Market (Caprice)

This lovely restaurant offers typical greek food. The dishes are very delicious, but their location is just unbeatable.

Look at this amazing view. I would definitely call this a front row seat.

Extra Tip: Just a few metres away from Sea Satin Market, is their Caprice Bar. This is just an institution in Mykonos. You can go there for an aperitif or a sundowner. But the best thing is to go there so see the sunset. It is just mind-blowing. If you are lucky enough to get one of the front row tables – grab it. Order a glass of wine, sit down and just enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island.

Eva’s Garden

Eva’s Garden is a tiny restaurant in the middle of Mykonos town. It is a typical greek Tavern. You will find all the greek dishes you know from the Mama Mia movie in a pure and simple way – but more than delicious. Everything is tasty and fresh.

Mamalouka 

In this restaurant it is all about the food and the interpretation of greek food. Mamalouka combines greek food in an unique and modern way. You have typical greek ingredients but served in a modern way. 

If you want delicious, fresh greek food with a modern twist you should definitely visit Mamalouka.

Scorpios Beach Club

As mentioned in my previous blog post – this is my all time favorite spot in Mykonos. It is one of the best beach clubs in Mykonos. Best drinks, best food, best parties and the best crowd. What do you want more ?!?! 

Rakkan Beach Club

Rakkan beach club is relatively new. This beach club has a fantastic location at the Kalo Livadi Bay, which is just a beautiful beach in Mykonos.

Beside the great location, they have also a delicious restaurant which offers tasty asian-tapas-style food. Just yummy – and even if Gerard Butler likes it, I am pretty sure that you will also like it
